The abbreviated dimming descriptions tabled below are as used in our hire documentation and contain the following information, in the order listed:

• Product name or generic description
• Quantity of dimmers and maximum current rating of each, typically 6x10A
• Rating of single phase input mains connector ie: 63A, 32A or 13A with a fitted mains cable, generally of 1.5-2 metres length
• Control inputs, DMX being DMX512 digital protocol, +10V being 0 to 10V analogue and -10V being 0 to - 10V analogue. Act 6+ dimmer packs are auto sensing and accept either positive or negative 10V input signals.

All six way dimmer packs have dual 15A outlets per channel, except for Act6 Mk1 which has single 15A sockets but has the additional feature of an integral 6 way fader panel thus obviating the need for a separate manual control desk.

Analogue dimmer packs may be controlled by DMX via a demux unit, offering +/- 10V control.

Maximum dimmer pack simultaneous loading should be restricted to:

• With 63A plug, 14.4 kW corresponding to each of the 6 channels being fully loaded to 10A (2.4 kW)
• With 32A plug, 7.36 kW (for example: 12x 575W or 11x 650W lanterns)
• With 13A plug, 3 kW (for example: 6x 500W lanterns)

JandsPaks have four 5A dimmers and are fed via a 13A plug. An integral control panel includes chase and sound/light effects with load outputs from IEC sockets via adaptor cables to 15A sockets. Maximum load is 2.4 kW, for example, eight 300W Parcans.

ETC SmartBars attach to wind-up stands, hold 4 lanterns and include four 5A DMX controlled dimmers. Each has a 32A single phase mains plug and can be supplied with a 13/32A adaptor cable. SmartBars are ideal for fast setup in venues without overhead rigging provisions and where power supply is restricted to 13A sockets.
